This is a plan for an assembly on sharing based around the story of Goldilocks. It is easy to follow and requires no resources, so is perfect for using at the last minute! I like leading assemblies that are interactive, engaging and relevant to the children’s lives. This assembly involves lots of child input to help you retell the traditional story of Goldilocks. It then links the story to a school scenario. When I used this assembly, children were completely engaged and involved the whole time as they are so familiar with the tale. This is a set of three lesson plans to teach children about the fun Jewish holiday of Purim. It is suitable for ages 4-7. The plans are very detailed (9 pages plus resources). These lessons could be taught at any time of the year. Lesson 1 contains a brief overview of Judaism and Purim. Lesson 2 focuses on the story of brave Queen Esther. Lesson 3 teaches the children about how Jewish people celebrate Purim. Each lesson starts with a carpet session. The children then split into five groups for activities. These include drawing, storytelling, dressing up and crafts. Across the three lessons the children have the opportunity to do all of the activities. The plans could be combined into one lesson with the children only doing one or two activities. There are three differentiated levels of objectives.
